Sadiq,
You will get it next time. I think 65 is a great showing for the first
attempt, since that is how my first time was. Rest a while, and then
get back into it. Work on your weak areas, and go over everything
again. Make sure you know it. Then work on speed.
The test dates miraculously open up about 28 days prior to the date.
Study as if you already had the date in December, and then start
checking to secure it in a couple weeks. As soon as you see one, grab
it. :)
Jason

Subject: First attemp, and counting...
Hey Guys,
Please if anyone has a date he/she is giving up in December, I am very
interested to take it up please...
By the way, I just had my first attempt....
Overall, I think the exam was really fair...i had a good strategy, but
got caught up in a troubleshooting for some good time, which had an
effect on my speed and consequently, interpretation of other questions
(I guess).
I came out of the exam a happy guy actually - thinkin I had nailed
it.. (but apparently not, hehe).. even though many keep saying you
need to wait unitl you see the score report.... i believe you all
now...
My advice, dont over complicate the exam questions.... as a result of
my over complicating what I refer to a basic question, I lost about 2
hours of the total exam time. And by the way, I actually fixed the
problem at the very last 2 mins of the exam and yes, it was right.
Would you see stuff you would think you dont know? Yes. Would you
later in the exam realise you even know what you thought you didnt
know? Yes. When you come across something that sounds soo complicated,
try it out first. If you havent got the slightest idea on what to do,
improvise, move on, and come back to it later. I had about 3 questions
which I though I couldnt do the first time I read them, but I did
them the second time and got them right actually...
But indirect weight of this throughout the entire exam, huge! I
thought my BGP was as easy as a IE Lab difficulty level 5, but I still
got a 0 actually. Not because I cldnt do wat they wanted me to do, but
because I had missed out something they wanted me to do alongside the
others (which I still havent f**king figured out). And because all
questions depended on that, I lost all my marks for even what i had
configured to be right :-)
KISS - Keep It Simple Silly ... the basic design principle. My profs
have been telling me this for the better part of the last decade ( and
i cant believe I have still failed them by the way - not a good
student i would say).
For those thinking about quitting, im not part of your camp! You would
be suprised how closer to it we all are actually...Is my spirit low,
yes. Am I giving up the fight? Im not even thinking about it!
So please, if anyone wishes to drop a date in December, unicast me..
Thanks!!
Sadiq
PS: So whats really the deal with OSPF distance command guys? Does it
really work or not? I have tried this command many times over and it
just doesnt work as expected. Is this really a bug or what? Can the
guys really experienced with it say a word on this please? And no, its
not a problem with the advertising router's router-id..... there has
to be something else about the usage I think! I am sure many others
are in on this one with me...
