If you look through the docs, I think you'll find two different flavors of
commands. "Spanning-tree vlan" and "spanning-tree mst" where there's a
difference that should jump out at you!
In the long-run though the output of "show spanning-tree" will always tell
you what things did take effect and what things did not.
