There would not be 50 of those sites now if there were
not at least 50-100 customers per site.
They did not start overnight either.
Everyone on this list has a responsibility to actually
perform a hands-on technnical interview of anyone they
seek to hire who tells them they are a CCIE or even
CCIE Candidate for that matter.
And I mean it is fair game to sit them down at a
console and ask them to perform on the spot. Should
be easy for a person working through a myriad of labs.
No CCIE should ever, even after a few years be unable
to perform at least well enough to get the job.
If they cannot, feel free to embarass them and tell
your friends... or post it online... the Wall of
Shame...
If you refuse to hire them they will either learn the
stuff or they will go away.
But who else is going to be able to ascertain the
skill level of a CCIE?
For you HR types, hire a CCIE from a local Gold
Partner or bring in your Cisco SE who is a CCIE to
help you out.
Stop the buck and stop it today.
Wanna get the cert fast fine...
Now get ready to braindump the hands-on interview 3
months later, 6 months later, and even 3 years or 10
years later...
Been a while since I got serious with DOS, but I still
know it.
Anyone who has taken the time to get to the level of
the CCIE legitimately will be hard-pressed to have
forgotten how to navigate the CLI.
Now, for those low numbered CCIE's who dumped the lab
back in the late 90's, and early 2000's, you've had
time to get up to speed.
But everyone even a CCNA should feel free to prepare a
challenging hands-on technical interview for any CCIE
who applies for a job anywhere worldwide.
And no CCIE should feel berated by completing a
hands-on interview to the best of his/her knowldege.
Time to clean the decks...
Report your findings... Do we need a web-site:
www.NOTAREALCCIE.com with a Hall of Shame (As in Dubya
- well you get the point)...
I mean...
This is all it will take.
Not much really.
And I'll bet within 6-12 months the market would dry
up.
It is worse than being Banned from the Program...
Public humiliation sucks...
Maybe it is not too late to register the name...
Hey, there is a forum (where warez are openly traded
no less) where the mods who got their own CCIE certs
forbid anyone else to break the NDA...
There are CCIE Blogs - Yes, some people on this list -
who advocate Testking on their site and proudly list
it as a legitimate source as a resource for the CCIE
Written...
You cannot make this stuff up.
So stop what you are doing and "interview a CCIE"
today...
And don't forget to post the weirdest, wackiest, and
rocks that pass for CCIE's on a Wall of Shame
somewhere...
Ask not what you can pay your CCIE, but what your CCIE
will pay you to forget the hands-on interview... gone
really bad... not to put his/her name on the Wall of
Shame... and not to laugh him/her too badly out the
door.
If all else fails, the person who buys their way
through the lab - should be willing to split the
salary 50/50 with the interviewer... if he/she should
get the job...
BTW - I'm writing the how to braindump (I mean ace)
the "CCIE Interview for Dummies"... Anyone
interested should let me know...
Just some random ideas...
