I actually ran 4.0(2) on a dell gx240 with 512mb ram. It ran well. 2
phones
came up and I made calls.

What exactly is slow?

Did you allocate 1gb of RAM per server?

And allow the host machines to have 1gb for its OS?

Another thing to think about is the HDD access, In my scenario I have a
dedicated HDD for each server.

Ie: Disk 1: Host OS
    Disk 2: CCM
    Disk 3: Unity

This did speed up things for me. Not A LOT but it was a little more
responsive.
