Subject: RE: How can I solve RIP redistribution, IP reachability issue
This can be done using the distribution list method of filter routes
that are redistributed. Here is my config on my rack's R4 (currently
redistributing OSPF into rip. RIP is running on R4's F0/1 towards BB2
router rip
version 2
redistribute ospf 1 metric 2
network 150.1.0.0
distribute-list 1 out FastEthernet0/1
no auto-summary
access-list 1 permit 1.1.33.0 0.0.0.255
Another working solution is having the distribute-list match a
prefix-list
router rip
version 2
redistribute ospf 1 metric 2
network 150.1.0.0
distribute-list prefix 1-1-33-0-24 out FastEthernet0/1 no auto-summary
ip prefix-list 1-1-33-0-24 seq 5 permit 1.1.33.0/24
Either would be a valid solution. Read the task carefully and fully.
Read it again and again, to avoid ambiguity. If one of these methods was
denied or both were denied (do not use the command "distribute-list" you
have many many options 1. a route-map matching an acl or prefix list to
put with the "redistribute ospf" command 2. matching an acl with an
offset-list, essentially making the route unusable to all but the local
router 3. matching an acl with the distance command where all networks
to be filtered are put to AD 255 (unusable) 4. another option you can
"redistribute with metric 15". This only allows the very next hop to use
the route, and beyond its inaccessible (metric 16)
rack1r4#sh run | b router rip
router rip
version 2
redistribute ospf 1 metric 15
network 150.1.0.0
distribute-list prefix 1-1-33-0-24 out FastEthernet0/1 no auto-summary
rack1bb2#sh ip route rip
1.0.0.0/8 is variably subnetted, 3 subnets, 3 masks
R 1.1.33.0/24 [120/15] via 150.1.2.4, 00:00:04, FastEthernet0/0

Subject: How can I solve RIP redistribution, IP reachability issue
Hello GS
When redistributing OSPF into RIP, using distribution list, there
are no option to apply the redistribution list to a specific interface,
so the redistribution policy will apply to all traffic redistributed
into RIP, How can I work around this so that I can ping all prefix
from this router with the distribution list on it?
Would the proctor take this into consideration when he check for
complete reactivity to all prefix from all router/switch?

I had the same experience - no matter what date I put in, the web site
tells me that there are no dates available. What gives??

I know lab dates are hard to come by, but has ANYONE been able to add a
R&S date in the last two weeks? I'm starting to wonder if Cisco might
have frozen the calendar.
