Where to put PPP auth...

I was setting up a MLPPP (over FR), and I just configured the ppp chap
config on the multilink interface.

The solution shows the ppp chap commands on the virtual template. So
what is proper in this situation? My way works, but I guess
authenticating the underlying links is good too? Heck, I suppose I
could do the VT and the Multipoint interfaces.

Any thoughts on the proper way to do this. I know both methods work, so
it comes down to the pros and cons of each I guess. The question just
says to secure the communication over the frame-relay cloud.
