Hey Guys,
It seems many of the gentlemen here have questions, here are the excerpts:
My technical experience standing at 8 yrs has initials of being a network trainer the moment i landed in networking field. After few years of network trainings i joined a firm primarily which was into campus networking which gave real world experience.
As far as CCIE is concerned i picked up this track in early 2006 , starting March, i gave my Qual in June '06, going through TCP Vol 1/2 9 . After which my hunt for dates began and got my first date in 24th Feb '07, i spent a savage 7 months of preparation from the IEWBs/CoDs/Doc-CD, trying and testing almost every cmd i could lay my hands on, this period was the most intense in my tech career.
My first attempt was a disaster from the lab perspective, as i had full knowledge of the solutions, but didn't know how to attack the lab.I almost did everything i shouldn't be doing, I panicked, went into a rat-hole troubleshooting things and loosing ample time.
Second time, I managed to book for 18th May, the dates came for few hours on CCO and we all wannabe-sharks pounced on those dates, second time i was more relaxed and finished FR/Switching/IGP section by lunch time, could almost see my number coming , till post lunch where i got rogered between troubleshooting BGP and Multicast. :-(
3rd time, i had narrowed my scope of learnings, i did not do any thing which i was comfortable with, switching/FR per se, just refreshed my IGPs and attacked "non-comfort-zone " areas viz , BGP/Multicasting/Route filtering and Route redistribution. This time i had kept many things for Doc-cd on which i can swear any time. Doc-cd is rich !! :-).
With careful time management i could squeeze in 45 minutes of verification in which i found out 3 mistakes in configs.
Key is to keep calm, read the questions "carefully", oversight can prove to be the thin line between the magic-number and another attempt.
The Proctor was Brazilian , Maurilio Gorito, from San Jose, he was a gem.
In GS i had only heard about good/helpful proctors, i encountered one this time.
and dates in Bangalore are a big problem , still we had to hunt then down.
Apologies for the long mail.
Cheers
Shukla

Gurus,
After a battle with the technology and my understanding of it, i cleared my
lab in Bangalore. This was my 3rd attempt.
Though have been passive , i have learnt a lot with the questions posted
and tried them manually on my topologies.
Would like to thank all the participants in answering my queries.
Brians/Scott/Narbik/Victor/Marvin , you guys have been doing a great job in
assisting CCIE aspirants.
Thanx
Shukla
