I can suggest some troubleshooting on R2.

check the mroutes

R2#sh ip mroute 239.39.39.39 and make sure there is no "null" on the
Outgoing interface.

On R2 you can "debug ip mpacket"

Also make sure you don't have stale entries by clearing ip mroute * and
clear ip pim rp-mapping. Check the rp mapping on various routers in your
network.

I think with Dynamips you have to remember to always enable "ip cef".
