3550's default is "dynamic desirable"
3560's default is "dynamic auto"

I would say always try to configure everything with the least amount of
commands, but do interpret the question correctly and be as specific as
possible.

It didn't say to disable DTP
It didn't say to hard code the port as a trunk port

It said to make sure to not automatically trunking with DTP. With both sides
set to "dyn auto" neither side will try to initiate trunking, so that's the
correct answer

This means you only have to reconfigure the 3550s :-)
