Besides the obvious negative implications for CCIE candidates (and the
obvious positive implications for those in the rack rental industry), I
would regard this as a "Ciscoification" of the certification. The CCIE has
always been perceived by industry to be a measure of overall networking
expertise which is largely vendor agnostic. The 6500 is obviously a Cisco
platform vs. an industry technology. Thus, I think it would devalue the
CCIE outside of Cisco itself, personally...
