Subject: CCIE....it's my turn.
All,
I'm sure this has unofficially replaced the "signing the wall" culture at
CCIE lab centers.
I feel humbled and proud to say it's my turn to write this mail after a very
very long wait. I passed the CCIE R&S lab yesterday @ Brussels'. I am
writing this mail to specially thank the guys that put this group together;
Paul B and you all for contributing. I wanna thank the likes of Brian D and
Brian M for the great approach they have towards training as evident in the
various Lab materials they put in the public domain. Scott M, for being
there and for all his work towards this goal.
I especially want to appreciate my study guys, Yemi Salau and Chika Acha.
Funny I consider you guys better at this exam thing, so yours will happen
very soon. Thanks for the countless conf. calls and the many heated debates
which drove us to the IE materials, CCO and the likes for verification.
Guys, it matters who proctors your lab? I want to say a big thanks to Rob my
proctor @ Brussels, you really made a difference. Forgive me though,
Americans just have a way of making you feel comfy (I'm not talking about
Bush now)!? And this is a personal opinion by the way. Rob is the only
proctor in Brussels that's made me feel relaxed by his approach to
proctoring. You really need to be around one that makes you feel comfortable
and Rob did that for me. Thanks Rob.
My final words; the CCIE is a process, let it pass through you don't just
pass through it; it could hurt you in the future.
Now about me; the number is 18787 (for those that keep track, I used to). I
am presently a Network Architect (that varies from company to company) with
about 8 years of experience. I started the journey back in 2002 with my 1st
try @ San Jose, and I "parked" it till now due to....getting Married,
moving...moving...., having a baby (more like my wife having a baby).
I came back from a holiday 10 days to my lab, as much as would not recommend
that, it helped take my mind of things. I almost regretted it though.
It's been long and hard, but here I am today. I do believe that "tough times
never last but tough people do"! Keep hacking.
Finally, I would like to thank my "Father who art in Heaven" for the
insight, my wife "sweetie" for the patience and my son for always waking me
up, when I needed to be up reading and not sleeping.
Sorry sounds like an Academy award yah....?
Now to CCIE Voice.....my wife must not hear this!
