Heh, if I wasn't so much closer to RTP (meaning cheaper flights) then SJ
would definitely be it for me. I don't mind the early mornings but lunch at
RTP doesn't offer much choice and both times for me resulted in crazy
heartburn. I think I'll bring Rolaids with me next time.
Watermelon juice? Never had it like that but sounds awesome! I think I'd
also enjoy the longer lunch and a nice stroll to stretch the legs.

A big part of the day is the break for lunch, the time to step back from the
lab, and figure out what you are doing well on, and what you aren't getting.
TAKE THE LAB IN SJ. RTP gives you lunch IN THE LAB. For some, this might be
ok. Yesterday our cool proctor in SJ escorted us to the lovely Cisco
cafeteria. We had our choice of many excellent foods, and FRESH SQUEEZED
WATERMELON JUICE! HOW COOL!
The environment in CA is so much nicer (very low humidity). Also the lab
starts at a sane hour (8:15am) as apposed to NC's "Fort Braggish" 7:15am!
I like NC a lot, as the proctors were also top notch, but I hate early
mornings!
Oh, yes Scott, I'm the real deal, so I got an OCT SJ lab date today for my
3rd tour of duty.
Time to re-re-double my study efforts... and re-turn off my blackberry.
The first time in RTP I really bombed, so doing a lot better lets me know I
understand what the lab is after now. I won't stop until I'm a Lieutenant
General CCIE, earning a star each in R/S, VOIP, SECURITY.
Remember what I said when I answered that MCSE vs CCIE post... "you have to
be good long enough". For some this is the 1st attempt, for other's the
10th.

Joe,
I honestly felt a little gut blow to see the title of your e-mail in my
inbox. I really am down for ya man.
You said you'd take a run at this every month until you got the number.
Will you still do that? Or do you feel you need more time before going at
it again?
You've now done RTC and SJ. Which would you do the third time, all things
being equal?
Seems like you went out to SJ early enough to adapt to the time zone, etc.
Did that help?
Were you more confident this time vs. your first? Is this process helping?
Regards,
Scott

Who gets all the BGP/QOS/SECURITY points and STILL FAILS the LAB?
LOL,
