GS,
Sadly my employer has pulled the plug on my CCIE. I do not want to give up
but I am on a tight budget. A such I'm looking for advice of where to invest
as I'd like to make my third attempt my last one, as in successful.
I started Jan last year, passed the written in May on the third attempt.
Took Heinz Ulms bootcamp a week later, had one month study time and took my
first attempt on the 2nd of August last year. Sadly I failed, was convinced
I'd passed but I received the mail while driving home after the lab... I
guess I must have been through it too fast misreading, misinterpreting or
just plainly missing things. As I solved all tasks, verified everything. And
had about an hours and a half spare.
Then my studies stopped as my wife was 7 months pregnant and a baby room had
to be 'built'. I managed to get back studying around May this year though it
want very slow. In the end the month before my lab was spent as quqlity time
in my lab. I managed to get OSPFv3 on all if not most of my routers which
took a major redesign of the equipment and layout of the lab I'd built last
year. I also joined groupstudy around this time.
The second lab I made sure I read everything thoroughly and took my time. I
found I'd lost the speed I had last year and ran out of time. Score report
was quite similar to last years, not sure whether I can draw a reliable
conclusion there...
Now a friend of mine has advised getting ipexpert's "R&S Bundle A: Workbook
& Proctor Guide" and working through all 40 labs. As it will really stretch
my budget I'm weary of taking the risk, I've never seen the material.
Any advice appreciated,
