Hey ,
I also tried changing metric type with distribute list route-map in
but unsucessful
so is the conclusion that --- changing metric type with distribute list route-map in
is invalid option ?????

Ofcourse distribute list for OSPF only affects what goes in the routing
table, it has no effect on what you send or recieve to/from neighbors.
I was only asking you test it since you were in the lab already because I
have not tested it, I only am sure that in OSPF you can attache a route-map
to the distribute-list command and that from that route-map you can change
different route attributes. I hadn't yet played with trying to change the
metric-type, but it is an option in the route-map.
But since you have tried and verified that it is not happening, then I guess
that option is out ! I will also play with it when I get my hands on some
tin.
Herbert.
