That would be true as well, but since subnet-zero is default now (has been
since IOS 12.0) then you'd have to go out of your way to put that in. If
this command WAS put in, then you're correct, it might be seen.
I just didn't think it as likely, although I don't know the lab being worked
on, so perhaps was...

Most probably you have "no ip subnet-zero " this will give you the error you
got as this is the all zero subnet.
