BGP - Setting weights using route maps

Hi All,

I read in a book that says when route maps are used to set weights in BGP,
only the AS_PATH can be matched; individual IP addresses cannot be matched
with the "match ip address" command.

I have tried it; I can actually set weights by using "match ip address" in a
route-map statement. Is it a mistake in the book? Can anyone comment?

I also notice the "weight" keyword is no longer available in the "neighbor
filter-list" command. From Command References, it's been removed in Release
12.1. Just curious if anyone knows the historical reason why it's removed.
