Anyone know when you summarize on an ABR using the area range commands why
some summary routes will show up in the "sh ip ospf" output as "Passive
Advertise" instead of "Active Advertise"? Also, what is the overall impact of
the passive advertise? In my scenario i'm noticing that routers in one area
are seeing all the routes and not the summaries from another area ... i think
it's as a result of the passive status.
Is there a way to force them active?
what is the criteria for them to be active?
Searched google and most of my
books to no avail.
Thanks
