Cargi,
Are you sure that the p-2-p side is configured as ospf
non-brodcast? P-2-p defaults to ospf network type
p-2-p, which has no DR. In which case R1 would never
try to be the DR. However, R2 is defaulting to
non-bcast, which needs a DR.
