It's possible that many people with double CCIE's are among the recently
inactivated ones, therefore decreasing the number.

Subject: CCIE Worldwide Statistics - Update
Hello group,
Finally we have an update to the CCIE Worldwide Statistics page:
<http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/certified_ccies/worldwide.html>
http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/certified_ccies/worldwide.html
Bellow a comparison between the current and the previous numbers:
04.02.2007 08.02.2007
Total of Worldwide CCIEs 14387 15062 +675
Total of Routing and Switching CCIEs 13408 13898 +490
Total of Security CCIEs 906 1046 +140
Total of Service Provider CCIEs 474 569 +95
Total of Storage Networking CCIEs 70 90 +20
Total of Voice CCIEs 445 543 +98
Total with multiple certifications worldwide 1113 1240 +127
Total of Routing and Switching and Security CCIEs 589 483
-106
Total of Routing and Switching and Service Provider CCIEs
359 268 -91
Total of Routing and Switching and Storage Networking CCIEs 29 22
-7
Total of Routing and Switching and Voice CCIEs 187 167 -20
Total with 3 or more certifications 161 189 +28
I guess there is something wrong with these numbers because it does not make
sense to have negative numbers in the Double CCIE's stats.
Regards,
Antonio Soares
