Another piece of advice: save the pre-conifgurations, it helps a lot when
you 'forget' that you're not allowed to change certain things and you did.
I generally make a diagram of what I find before studying the given diagram
in detail. Comparing the two quickly finds you any intentional/accidental
weirdness. My first diagram will include device types, IOS + feat-sets, IP
addressing and dlci's. Generally anything I can find that is worth noting.
