If you ask them nicely...
I was allowed last year. First thing I did was walk over to the proctor and
show them to him asking whether I could use them. He had a look at them and
said I could. Everything else had to be put on the table by the proctor
(phones keys passports etc).
Make sure you put your muchies (dextro & chocolate) on the table before you
start as well. Then if it's a problem they can tell you before you start.
Nor will you have to fret through your pockets during the exam.
