Hi Group,
I am diagnosing a 2960G switch which is reporting "Undersize" frames when I
check the 'sh interface counter error' output.
Looking at the 'sh controllers ethernet-controller" output I see the same
undersize frames as well as the exact same amount of "Valid frames, too
small".
I've looked on the doco cd and found this in the command ref:
"Valid frames, too small
The number of frames received on an interface that are smaller than 64 bytes
(or 68 bytes for VLAN-tagged frames) and that have valid FCS values. The
frame size includes the FCS bits but excludes the frame header bits."
Could someone please elaborate on what this really implies. Should I be
concerned?
The port in question is a dot1q trunk to a 3825. There are no other errors
at all on the port.
Cheers,
Con.
