It's the documentation bug CSCsi65330 that spread across all the Cisco
documents
Configuration guides for VTP have not been updated to reflect change in
VTPv2 transparent mode behaviour from
CSCea40015<http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCea40015>.
VTPv2 transparent switches do not forward VTP updates unless the domain in
the update matches the locally configured domain.
This is a documentation bug.
*Conditions:*
Documentation is incorrect in configuration guides for versions including
and after Integrated-in versions for
CSCea40015<http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/onebug.pl?bugid=CSCea40015>
.
First Found-in Version 12.2(35)SE1
So in your situation the only solution will be to use the NULL domain name
and configure the switch for VTP transparent mode before connecting it to
the VTP domain (to prevent it "learning" the domain name)
