Hello Milind,

Be sure you enabled PIM on your R1's loopback0 and loopback1 interfaces.
Then enable "debug ip pim auto-rp" on both routers and see what you get.

Antonio,

No luck, still not working.

Enabled "ip pim autorp listener" on R2 and R1, disabled "no ip mroute-cache"
on R1 and R2 Ethernet interface.

Here are the details again.

R1 F1/0 (150.50.17.1) is connected to R2 F0/0 (150.50.17.2)

R1 is configured to advertise as RP(ip pim send-rp-announce Loopback0 scope
16 group-list 1, ip pim send-rp-discovery Loopback1 scope 16)

On R1 and R2 I am running "ip pim autorp listener"

Regards,

Milind

Hello,

This usually means that you have an RPF failure. Since you are running PIM
SM only, confirm that you have "ip pim autorp listener" on your R2 router.
If this is already configured, try to disable multicast fast-switching with
"no ip mroute-cache" and debug with "debug ip mpacket". Then see if you get
some "RFP failure" messages.

I am running ip pim spare-mode on all the routers in the lab, the following
is the config on RP router. On the other router in the lab when I run "sh ip
pim rp mapping", I don't find any mapping.

R1 (RP)

ip pim rp-address 200.0.0.1

ip pim autorp listener

ip pim send-rp-announce Loopback0 scope 16 group-list 1

ip pim send-rp-discovery Loopback1 scope 16
