Hi Everyone
Forgive me for bringing this up, but as my 2nd attempt (the dreaded,
according to some list members) draws closer, I find myself increasingly
questioning my motives for working towards attaining the CCIE certification.
Are we just thrill seekers, drawn by the beckoning mountain many have
succumbed to? Do we get an adrenalin rush out of conquering this beast?
There is no denying that passing any exam that takes the kind of effort the
ccie requires has to be one of the most exhilarating moments in a persons
life. One of those experiences that evoke feelings you can never adequately
describe to anyone else.
Or do we simply view it as our ticket to the big bucks? Perhaps a new job,
or a promotion into a position with perks we feel we deserve.
Or maybe we just want recognition from our peers and bystanders alike.
Or maybe we just want to get better at our jobs, or broaden our business
activities and prospects.
What are your views on this? What drives you to keep dusting yourself off
and getting right back onto the horse after getting thrown off the first,
second, or third attempt?
I apologise to those who may find this topic offensive.
Ben
