Hi Antonio, Group,

1st, Big congrats to you for achieving the exam :)
2nd, I actually passed the R&S the same day as you did (the 19th) in
Brussels - being #18475 since that day.

I agree with your feeling for Erik, proctor in Brussels. This guy was really
amazing to clarify all my questions and I asked him really a lot - like one
every 10 minutes - maybe you see who I was that day ^_^
For the ones having their exams scheduled, I can only advice you to ask a
lot of questions and clarifications if you have any doubt (little or big) on
the phrasing or the meaning of the questions.

For history, I work in networking for 2 years now (for Cisco in fact). This
exam was my 2nd attempt, previous one was on the 30th of April 07 for which
I wasn't ready and knew it. This time, my main concern was to sleep well
enough the night before, which wasn't that easy for me lol.

The ccie in itself was not a goal for me but a mandatory passage for my
evolution. As I similarly read once on the group, I think that the ccie is a
starter and not the dessert - meaning it's something that should trigger the
desire for keeping up the speed with networking technologies and not just an
exam to pass once then rest on to get a job or whatever.

For the material, I used Ipexpert for the simple protocol labs and
Internetworkexpert for both the simple and mock labs. I did the simple labs
at least 2 times each, some mocks 2 times also.

Regarding groupstudy, it's actually my 1st email here. In the past few
months, I read quite a lot of Q&A on this group just by curiosity and found
out very interesting questions which I would never had thought about by
myself.

Wish good luck to all of you for your preparation,
Xav

Hello group,

I still don't believe it !!! I arrived from Brussels 2 hours ago the e-mail
was already there !!!

Special thanks to:

- Mr. Bruce Caslow who showed me how important it was to join a study group
and fortunatley i found Group Study.
- Mike Kraus for being my study partner these last weeks.
- Erik Vangrunderbeek for clarifying everything i asked him during the lab.

I started this long journey in early 2006. Then i failed my 1st attempt in
September 2006. Then due to the lab blueprint change in November 2006, i
decided to start all over again. Joined this fantastic group in December
2006. Made again the 350-001 in March 2007. Finally i was successful after
18 months of hard work and sacrifices. It's not easy when you have a wife
and a 4 years old kid.

I have 10 years of experience and made my CCNP in 2002 and CCIP in 2005.

I used Internetwork Expert and NetMasterClass products.

I will be here to help others achieving their goal !!!

Thank you,
Antonio Soares
