Back in June 2003 I was a lab participant in Brussels. Our proctor's first name was Erik but I am not sure about his last name so I cannot be certain that we are talking about the same proctor named Erik. What I can vouch for is that our proctor was courteous, professional and an amiable person. The fact that I failed was entirely my fault and had nothing to do with Erik's proctoring of the exam.
And no Erik is not my friend, or relative and he did not offer to buy me a nice Belgian beer to say this. :-)
Please friends DO not believe any silly rumors you hear about the Lab.

further confusion, let us make a one time statement.
Proctors do NOT interfere (modify config, delete config, etc.) in any
way during the exam.
We encourage people who claim differently, to address this to the
proctor during the time of your lab exam AND to officially address this
by opening a case on www.cisco.com/go/certsupport.
Good luck with your study.
