From what I understand exec-timeout applies to the amount of
time in seconds the router waits for input from the user
before timing out. Session-timeout is how long the router
waits for traffic inactivity in seconds before timing out.
There is also an output option you can add so the router
will also look at output traffic for inactivity before
timing out.
