Hey Guys, I Recently upgraded my internet from a DSL modem to a Cable
modem. Previously, while i was still using the DSL modem, i had my router
configured as follows (dhcp server) ; {pretty straighforward}
access-list 1 permit 10.10.10.0 0.0.0.255!ip dhcp exclude-address
10.10.10.1!ip dhcp pool DHCPnetw 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0default-router
10.10.10.1dns-server 192.168.0.1 --> "this dns is static, never
changes{issued by the dsl modem}" With the above config. i never had an
issue, all my workstations could connect to the internet. Current Issue
Since i got the cable modem, the IP Address of the DNS Server is not
static. it changes anytime the modem reboots, So, ***is there a way to
assign my workstation automatic DNS address ? Those of you with Cable
modem, how did you assign your wkstation a dns address ? Thanks !
