I used a Avocent serial port concentrator for a while before purchasing a
2511. After assigning and IP address to it, each physical port was
designated by a telnet TCP port number; physical port 1 was referenced to
tcp port 2001 and so forth. It used a rollover cable from its rj-45 "serial"
port to the Cisco console port. Worked pretty well once you got used to
having lots to telnet windows open or using it with tabbed SecuerCRT.
