Hey Dennis..

Well to start with I would take a glace to the following RFC 1701, 1702, 2748
that defines Generic routing encapsulation

and since the topic describes GRE with QOS, I can think an example,
Multiprotocol tunneling on Cisco Routers at sites encapsulating protocol
specifics for the creation of Virtual Point to point links, a creation of a
GRE Tunnel to provide dynamic routing over IPSec and then apply
differentiated level of services using QoS preclassification and with WFQ and
WRED we can operate on the intermediate routers (between the 2 routers of the
tunnel). Since the QOS markers normally found in the header of the IP packet
must be visible in the tunnel packet header regardless of the tunnel type in
use.
