Hi folks,

The task is asking to enable dot1p, and I have the following questions which I
will be happy to be answered :

1 -what is the difference between enabling dot1p and just
enabling dot1q ? Does not dot1q include the priority field embedded?

According to Kennedy Clark book:

Priority This is the 802.1p priority field. Eight priority levels are
defined in 802.1p and are
embedded in the 802.1Q header.

2 - What will happen if we did not enable dot1p but we still
trust the cos received on the interface? Is the switch going to identify the
tagged frames that are getting sent from the CISCO IP phone?

3 -The solution did not enable mls qos globally but it only enabled dot1p
(switchport voice vlan dot1p), should not we enable mls qos globally?

Thanks,

Ismail
