The frame switches usually have little to no involvement in the labs except
for providing frame services so I usually go for the cheapest option with
the highest port density. The labs don't really require any particular
speed, only functionality. Of course you can always alter the labs as you
desire but really, even a 2522 router (that's what I use) will work.
Between the two you listed, I would go with the 3600 M-8A/S solution.
Cheaper up front (most likely) and cheaper to run. Gotta pay that electric
bill you know. ;-)

Subject: Re: NM-4T and NM-8A/S
hey guys,
which is a better choice then please? I am building an 8-port FRSW for the
IEWB.
use a NM-8A/S on a 3640?
or just use a 7200?
Would I encounter a scenario when I would be limited in tryin to do some
exercise in the WB if I deploy the NM-8A/S card since its slow?
Frog ;-), would that be an ave speed on each port on the module, or are you
talking about the aggregate speed on the module itself?
Thanks!
