3550 system light and port 1 amber

For some reason my 3550s system light and port 1 are
amber and I can't console in to the device. I've tried
breaking into it but the mode button procedure does
not do anything. The Fan is working, I've tried a
different power cable but no luck. Has anyone
encountered this issue. Any advise, suggested are
greatly appreciated.
