They both limit the multicast groups that users can join. So lets say
you want to play a mean trick on your buddies in the Unix department,
you can limit them from joining the Victoria Secret streaming web
cast.
As for differences, the main differences I know of are:
Igmp Filter is configured on the layer 2 switch interface.
Igmp ACL is configured on the layer 3 router/switch interface.
I'm not sure if igmp access-list is more granular, for instance can it
allow you to specifiy certain user IP's from joining (as opposed to
all users on that interface)? Maybe someone else can comment.
