Hey and welcome to the journey! :-)
Recommended reading has been discussed several times recently, last time
it was not long ago in March-April, just check SG archives.
For the plan, it all depends on your background. And on how your time is
organized, i.e. whether you are to study full day and push the whole
thing from end to end or you are to study during evenings for longer
period. Some postings with planning should also be in archives. People
discussed all sorts of approaches.
A quick suggestion would be in choosing a workbook (a number of vendors
is around), trying to master the core topics and doing some CheckIT/MOC
labs for that, to see how confident you are. Then it is time to proceed
to QoS and a list of small topics from the blue-print.
