Use a null modem DB-9 to DB-9 cable, mated to the Cisco Rj45-to-DB9.

Subject: Setting up a VPN3000 Concentrator on a Cisco Access Server

Hi group,

I'm trying to connect to a VPN3000 Concentrator from a Cisco 2509 Access
Server.

Can anyone tell me the cabling configuration for this setup. Obviously i
cant plug the RJ45 from the octal cable straight into the VPN3K as the
VPN3K
has a DB9 type serial port.

I have tried connecting using one of the RJ45-to-DB9 terminal adapters
that
ship with some of the older Cisco kit but this doesnt seem to work. I
imagine the pin-out configuration isnt right.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,
Ben
