Hi, group
I'am working on a topology as follows. All routers join in OSPF area 0.
R1 is the RP for group 224.1.1.1, and R1 joins 224.1.1.1 group on loopback0.
I'am using AUTORP sparse-dense-mode, R4 is MA.
R1(s0.1 p2p) (s0/0)R6
\ /
FR--(s0/2.1 multipoing)R4(fa0/1)--(fa3/0)R3(s0/1) - FR
| \
R2 (s0/0.1 p2p) (s0/1)R7
After i configured, i have following situations:
R3,R6 and R7 can not ping 224.1.1.1, but they can receive the correct mapping informations in "show ip pim rp mapping".
But sh ip mroute 224.1.1.1 on R3:
R3#sh ip mroute 224.1.1.1
(*, 224.1.1.1), 00:00:26/stopped, RP 8.8.1.1, flags: SP
Incoming interface: FastEthernet3/0, RPF nbr 8.8.20.4
Outgoing interface list: Null
(8.8.20.4, 224.1.1.1), 00:00:26/00:02:33, flags: PT
Incoming interface: FastEthernet3/0, RPF nbr 0.0.0.0
Outgoing interface list: Null
(8.8.30.3, 224.1.1.1), 00:00:15/00:03:23, flags: T
Incoming interface: Serial0/1, RPF nbr 0.0.0.0
Outgoing interface list:
FastEthernet3/0, Forward/Sparse-Dense, 00:00:15/00:03:14
The incoming interface and outgoing interface pair looks fine.
R3#sh ip pim rp mapp
PIM Group-to-RP Mappings
Group(s) 224.1.1.1/32
RP 8.8.1.1 (?), v2v1
Info source: 8.8.4.4 (?), elected via Auto-RP
Uptime: 00:13:00, expires: 00:02:48
The mapping info on R3 also looks fine.
R6 and R7 has the same problems as R3.
What's wrong in my network, i'am wondering if i hit a IOS bug or something?
Any recommedations and suggestions are highly appreciated. If you need more information for troubleshooting, please let me know.
Thank you very much for your kindly help.
Cheers.
