This is to ensure that the etherchannel group can only run the
etherchannel protocol specified by the channel-protocol command. The
channel-group interface configuration command does not override the
etherchannel protocol command.
Switch(config-if)#channel-protocol lacp <-- dictate the etherchannel
must be LACP
Switch(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode desirable <-- introduce a fault here

Fa0/14 in group 1: the interface can not be added to the channel group
Switch(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode active <-- set the
etherchannel to LACP
