I haven't configured the ASA 5505 per se but you can use the 5505 to meet
your requirements.
Here's a recent post from Christopher Heffner:
The security plus model of the ASA5505 will support trunking on the
interfaces hence you can get up to 20 vlans. In the base license you only
get three zones so you configure the ports as part of a zone but no
trunking.
With the Security plus license you get more connections (25,000) then the
base license (10,000) along with more ipsec vpn connections (10
site-to-site/remote access for base license verses 25 for security plus.
As already stated none of the ASA-5505 will do stateful failover (all though
stateless failover is support on the 5505 with security plus
license) nor will either license type do contexts.
The ASA-5505 is a great little firewall to practice with for your own rack
as long as you rent some time also to do the other advanced features such as
failover and security contexts.
With the price being around $412.00 for the 10-user base license it is a
great buy too.

Subject: ASA5505
Hi Group,
I am looking to implement a solution for two small branch offices and I am
looking at ASA5505 for this but I havent worked with these devices. What I
need is branch to branch IPSEC between these two locations, firewall
capabilities and VPN access for about 5 to 10 users.
Has anyone configured IPSEC branch to branch tunnel with these devices?
Thanks,
Laurean
