Hi group,

what exactly does this command trust or override ?
switchport priority extend trust

or switchport priority extend cos 0

Does it override or trust ALL packets that are arriving on an Access Switch interface ? Even the voice packets ?
Suppose i use switchport priority extend cos 0, are my voice packets overriden with cos 0 ?

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat2940/12122ea7/scg1/swvoip.htm#wp1030860

If i read the documentation regarding this command in detail, i have the impression that it only overrides the
"possible" cos packets that arrive on the PC or data port of the Phone switch. Voice packets of the phone itself remain untouched.

switchport priority extend
cos value "Set the IP phone access port to override the priority received from the PC or the attached device."

If this is the case, than the Access switch must communicate this setting to the Phone switch - probably using CDP, no ?

Is this too far fetched or is it correct ?

regards,
Geert
