Sometimes people let them lapse, and don't recertify. The number is "active
CCIEs".
Also, sometimes people get their CCIE(s) stripped for NDA violations, etc.
Also, the count didn't start at 0. Started at 1025, I think?

This poses another question. The total number of CCIEs as of 04.2.2007 is
14387
(http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/certified_ccies/worldwide.html#t
op). The last number reported in GS is 17781. Why is this difference?
Regards,
RS

So this brings another interesting question. Where are the other study
mailing lists as comprehensive as this? I don't mind even to learn an-other
language for this :)
BTW: IOS command line is also like a foreign language.

Muhabat,
When I attended the lab (multiple times), during lunch I would bring up
groupstudy and MOST of the people that were there taking the lab with me
weren't a part of the list. This was just my experience but I thought it was
very interesting.
