I'll give it a shot:
CRB allows you to bridge or route on interfaces. It does not support
routing packets off of bridged interfaces. No BVI.
IRB does permit both bridging and routing on an interface. It allows
you to take packets off a bridged interface and onto other broadcast
domains via the BVI.
CRB is basically deprecated.
