Your sentence sounds a little complicated to me ('tag non tagged
traffic to vlan1'?), but my excuse is that I am not a native English
speaker ;-)
I would rather put it like this:

vlan dot1q tag native, applies dot1q tagging to frames received on the
native vlan when sending over the trunk, where the native vlan is
vlan1 by default.
