Hi Group,

I am not sure if my understanding on Passive-interface on a 3550 switch is
correct for RIP.

The task is asking me to configure RIP on a 3550 and not send RIP updates on
any other interfaces. The switch segment referring is having VLAN7, VLAN 77,
Fa0/3 and L0. The switch is configured with many other VLANs and routed
ports. In this case, do you actually need to enable the passive-interface
default and disable the passive-interfaces on VLAN7, VLAN77 and Fa0/3. The
solution in the workbook does not use passive-interface at all for this
switch.

Hope I have explained enough for this scenario. If anything is not clear,
please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Shine
