Does Verizon have a restriction as to what subnets you can advertise to the PE's? I know some providers have minimal restrictions. Are you using the Verizon MPLS connection for Internet too?

Subject: Issues using MPLS with a VPN back-up
Looking for a little help here...
We are implementing MPLS VPN with Verizon and would like to use standard
ISP GRE VPN tunnels as a back-up. We have tried OSPF with sham links
and redistribution into BGP. Now, we have a little twist. Our QC and
Dev segments are addressed 11.0.0.0/8 and 12.0.0.0/8 respectively
(something I inherited and it cannot be re-addressed). The rest of our
address space is private and is not having issues using OSPF with the
sham links. Now here are the issues we are having:
With OSPF the 11.0.0.0 and 12.0.0.0 addresses are not being installed on
the carrier router. With BGP redistribution, we are losing the dynamics
of our GRE VPN back-up.
Does anyone have experience with MPLS installations and advice on how we
can proceed? We would like to move away from using OSPF sham links
because of apparent scalability limitations. We have not tried using
VRFs on the CE routers to date. Is this the suggested direction?
My apologies for turning to the study group for suggestions. I have
pinged Cisco for suggestions as well but they have not been able to come
up with a suitable answer, yet. We have also worked closely with
Verizon but their engineers are stumped as well. I am looking for any
resource that may have more experience in this area.
Thanks!
