Ok, I finally download 802.1Q - 2005 edition
The ieee pdf file is much clearer in explaining this.
It says the IST at the boundary of a region needs to match what
CST use to connect to the region.
And the ieee pdf file explicitly says CIST is 1 tree !!!
You see, univercd misled me to think that CIST has multiple trees. And
my thought was totally messed up from that point on.
