I guess that 2,4,5 are on the same LAN so 2 will still hear multicast
updates from 4 and thus you see the route to 4.4.4.4
On the other end, 4 will not hear any updates directly from 2 which unicasts
only to 5; then due to split-horizon, 5 will not announce on the LAN what it
hears from this same interface with the results that 4 has no routing
information for 1,2,3
So your ping gets to 4 but there is no way back
