It is attempting to explain and demonstrate the effect of various ACLs
within the topology.
 
Of course, you will still see all routes at that point, because no filters
have been placed on any of the routing protocols. Simply packet filters to
affect certain reachability.
 
So when we start to work with lots of ACLs and see different effects, we'll
get a good sense about what the router is thinking of each time, and can see
the direct changes that we make and how this influences actual behavior on a
router.

Hello Scott,
 
I'm having a problem understanding the section 9.1 of the R&S workbook.
 
After applying the Access-list, I cannot ping R1 from R2 and I can ping R1
from R2 as the lab describes. However, I can still see all of the 200.0.0.x
routes in my routing table.
 
What is it what you are trying to accomplish??
