Can someone shed some light on the difference between these two VLAN encompassing features. Here is what I know about their pros, cons, and crossover features.

vlan-filter

PROs
Built to be a high perfomance filtering technique.
Can be applied to multiple vlans at the same time.

CONs
The filter statement needs to be removed and reapplied when doing changes.
Only restricts traffic.

mls-qos vlan based

PROs
Uses MQC to include more funcationality.

CONs
Has to applied to each SVI interface individually

Comparison

These two features have the same filtering capability on a VLAN. The mls-qos vlan based feature can traffic shape, mark traffic, and other functions that come with the MQC.
Are there any hardware platform limitations for each feature?

Travis,
